Waiheke Courtyard Addition 2021
A composition of shadow and an illuminated green courtyard. This addition to an existing home in Onetangi uses the stunning lush planting that the clients have created in combination with their love for the deep shadows found in traditional Japanese courtyard architecture.
This project has allowed for the development of my main themes of ‘contained shadow’ and ‘contained light’, with the object of architecture being the material connector between both.

Rylev-Kim House, Westmere 2020
A compact, modular house for four, using a SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) prefabricated system. The tight site in Westmere allows for height and not breadth, and the aim is for generosity in room ceiling heights rather than plan areas.
